Come on\u2026 I’m from that generation where computers only \u201cspoke\u201d English (my first micro: Spectrum 48K+<\/a>, thanks Sir Clive Sinclair<\/a>). Even today there are certain applications that I use that I prefer in English, despite using the system in Portuguese.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it makes me a certain agony the way some of us are not proud of our language\u2026 unlike for example in Brazil and Spain (not to mention others) where they translate a lot into their language (sometimes even unnecessarily), we even do the opposite; what is natively explicit in natural Cam\u00f5es<\/a> language for common mortal Portuguese\u2026 “Englishifying<\/em>” takes a place so it can be more cool, sometimes killing even the English! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Portuguese company names with their cool names and buzzwords in English, to events where the names of them, despite being presented all in Portuguese, many times they have the title unnecessarily<\/em> in English.
Having an “Englishifyed<\/em>” name was once “way ahead” and modern and hype; now the fact of using terms in English no longer means anything good nor that the product\/service is good either. Its most of times unnecessary…<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e1 l\u00e1\u2026 eu sou daquela gera\u00e7\u00e3o da gera\u00e7\u00e3o onde os computadores s\u00f3 “falavam” Ingl\u00eas (meu primeiro micro: Sinclair Spectrum 48K+<\/a>, obrigado Sir Clive Sinclair<\/a>). Mesmo hoje h\u00e1 certas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es que utilizo que prefiro em Ingl\u00eas, apesar de utilizar o sistema em Portugu\u00eas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cria-me no entanto uma certa agonia a forma como alguns de n\u00f3s n\u00e3o tem orgulho algum no nosso idioma\u2026 ao contr\u00e1rio de por exemplo no Brasil ou Espanha traduzem muita coisa para o idioma deles (\u00e0s vezes at\u00e9 desnecessariamente – ), no entanto n\u00f3s fazemos at\u00e9 o oposto; o que \u00e9 nativamente expl\u00edcito em l\u00edngua de Cam\u00f5es<\/a> para o mortal Portugu\u00eas\u2026 “inglesifica-se” para dar mais estilo!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desde nomes de empresas Portuguesas com seus nomes “pomposos” ou chav\u00f5es em Ingl\u00eas, a eventos onde os t\u00edtulos dos temas apesar de serem apresentados todos em Portugu\u00eas maioria das vezes t\u00eam o titulo em Ingl\u00eas, e \u00e0s vezes desnecessariamente.
Ter nome\/tema “inglesificado<\/em>” j\u00e1 foi “muito \u00e0 frente” e moderno; agora o facto de se usar termos em Ingl\u00eas de forma exagerada e muitas vezes sem no\u00e7\u00e3o… j\u00e1 n\u00e3o quer dizer nada, nem de que um produto ou servi\u00e7o seja bom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
